Publish a dashboard

You can publish your dashboard when it is ready to be viewed by users with access rights to the dashboards.

When you create a dashboard it is automatically assigned the Draft status. This restricts the dashboard to Admins, and Power Users with the appropriate access settings, while you build and test the dashboard. Once the dashboard is ready, you can make it available to Authors and Analysts by publishing the dashboard.

The following rules are applied to determine if a user has access to a dashboard based on their user role and teams:

  • Authors and Analysts can view Published dashboards assigned the Everyone access setting, or to a team they belong to.
  • Power Users can view dashboards with any publication status (Draft, Published, Unpublished) if the assigned access setting is Everyone or a team the Power User belongs to.
  • Admin users can view all Draft, Published, and Unpublished dashboards.
  • Publish a dashboard from the Home or Dashboards page.
    1. Open the Analytics app and on the analytics menu, click Home or Dashboards.
    2. Beside a dashboard in the list with a Status of Unpublished or Draft, click the Options menu and select Publish.
    3. Optional: To unpublish the dashboard, click the Options menu and select Unpublish.
Note: All previous users of the dashboard will no longer be able to access the dashboard once it has been unpublished.
