Create a weighting scheme from a template

Create a weighting scheme for your dataset by choosing an existing template as the starting point. You can adjust the weighting variables and weights, as necessary, to customize the weighting scheme for your dataset.

1. Open the Analytics app and on the analytics menu, click Datasets.
2. Select the dataset to add the weighting scheme to.
3. In the left navigation menu, click Weighting.
   Note: The Weighting menu is only enabled for datasets that have activities or profile variables added as data sources.
4. Click New Weighting Scheme > Create From Template.
5. In the Create from Template dialog box, select the template to create your weighting scheme from and click Create.
   The weighting scheme template you select should be for the dataset you are working with, or a dataset with the same or similar fields.
6. If any fields used in the template are missing from your dataset, you need to delete them.
7. If you want to include additional weighting variables, not defined in the template, complete the following steps to add up to 6 weighting variables:
   1. Select the dataset field to base the weighting variable on and click Add.
   2. Enter a target percentage value for each answer.
      The sum of target percentages across all answers for the weighting variable must equal 100.

      Tip: The current total for the target percentages is displayed on the total line of the weighting variable table.
8. Click Save & Calculate.
