Create a mapping field

Create a mapping field to link together the same question, or similar questions, from multiple surveys.

  • You can choose fields with the following data types for data mapping:

    • Text
    • Single Choice
    • Multiple Choice
    • Date
    • Boolean
    • Number
    • Net Promoter Score℠

  • You can map fields from multiple surveys if they have the same data type. The question name and the allowed values for Single Choice and Multiple Choice questions do not need to match.
  • You cannot create mapping fields for profile variables.
  • You cannot map multiple questions from a single survey to a single mapping field.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • If you are creating a New Dashboard, follow the steps in Create a New Dashboard until you get to the Data Selection page.
    • If you are adding a mapping field to an existing dashboard, open the dashboard from the Dashboards page and click Data Management.

  3. Click Mapping Field.
  4. Click Create New.
  5. In the Mapping Field page, complete the following steps:
    1. In the Mapped Field Name text box enter the name of the field to display in the Analytics field picker.

    2. In the Data Source drop-down list, select the survey to base the mapping field on.
    3. In the Field drop-down list, select field to map.
    4. In the second and subsequent entries in the Data Source and Field drop-down lists, select the data source and the field to map. Click Add Row to add additional rows as needed.
  6. Click Done.
