Add a dataset

You can add datasets to prepare your data for further analysis in dashboards and crosstab reports.

Prerequisites:
Note: You must be an Admin or Power User to work with datasets.
  1. Open the Analytics app and on the analytics menu, click Datasets.
  2. Click New Dataset.
  3. Enter a name for the dataset and click Create.
    Tip: You can rename your dataset at any time by opening the dataset and clicking Edit next to the dataset name on the Select Data page.
    Result: A new, empty dataset is created and you are prompted to add one or more data sources. You can add up to 20 data sources. You can add up to 20 single response surveys or power surveys, or one multiple response survey, and up to 10 member profile variables.

After you create a dataset, you need to add data sources to specify the activity data and profile variables the dataset contains. For information about data sources, see About data sources. To add a data source, see Add a data source to a dataset.
